Its a pain to remove. Has to be levered out with a screwdriver very carefully (ideally with the gearbox drained of oil, so tie it in with an oil change)
It then has to be pressed in using a deep socket over the shift rod
If your not confident in doing it, definately take it to a garage as they are easy to damage.
