TSI engines- slow warm up?

Post by sony »

My GTI takes an age to warm up- a good few miles. Compared to my other cars it seems to take 2-3 times longer. Does this sound about right?

Before my 6R 1.2 TSi, I had a 1.2 (70) 9n3 Polo and I found it uncanny that they both started blowing hot air at exactly the same point of my everyday journey. As for engine temperature, I couldn't possibly comment as the 1.2 TSi doesn't have a temperature gauge

This doesn't answer the question, but adds some more info: my 1.4 16V is quick to warm up and get the heater running. Much quicker than my previous Golf 4 1.6...
