Help please newbie, changing the bulb on polo bluemotion

Post by 21pmac »

Hello first post.

I am looking for some help changing the headlight bulb on a polo bluemotion 2009. I am a bit of a novice when it comes to cars.

I looked in the manual but it wasn't very clear. I unscrewed lamp from the bonnet however I was still unable to manoeuvre the lamp forward. Am I missing something straight forward, as I said I am a complete novice please help.

Thanks in advance.

You shouldn't need to remove the entire headlamp unit from the car to get to it. From memory, pull the rubber cover off, disconnect the wiring plug and the dipped beam bulb is held on with a plastic holder which you rotate anti-clockwise to release it. Remove it and then fit the new one, makiing sure that it's lined up properly so that you can rotate the holder back on again. This last bit can be a bit fiddly the first time you do it. Reconnect wiring and replace the rubber cover and job done!
