How to remove drivers side mirror glass

Hey guys

The mirror part of my wing mirror fell out the other day, and im wondering, how does the back black bit come off or do i just put the replacement on top of that? im off to vw tomorrow to order one

To remove the base use the mirror controls to move the mirror as far as it will go towards the window, this should give you enough space if you have small fingers to get them behind the base and give it a good tug it should then come off. Remember to disconect the two wires for the heater element. To put a new one on connect the two wires the correct way and line up the base plate with the bit it clips onto inside the mirror cowling and press till you here it click home.
