Managed to do this to my seatbelt today:

Post by zahir_213 »

I managed to break my seatbelt today. Just by pulling on it, it decided not to go back. I took the pannels off, unbolted the mechanism from the car and pulled it out. The plastic cap shot off as the clips were broken and the metal spring, sprung all over the place

So now Ive got to get this fixed before I can drive anywhere. Anobody know how much the seat belt is likely to cost?

Do not have one from a scrappy unless the car has been hit from behind. Obviously, they are only designed for single use in the event of an accident, like an airbag.

Went down to the dealers today and the part was 91 quid
The fitting will be free as my old man used to be a mechanic, but I reckon I can have a good go at it.
