Multi Function Steering Wheel - please help

I've just collected a 2013 Polo Match with the now standard Bluetooth device and a multi function steering wheel.

My problem is that the MFSW changes the radio station and volume but the phone button does not work. VW say its because it's a redundant button as the car does not have Bluetooth capacity. But the car does have Bluetooth albeit through a now standard added extra.

My question is am I being fobbed off or does no one else's phone button on the MFSW do anything?

Is there anything I can do to get it to work?

If I retrofit the RNS315 sat nav can they connect to the MFSW phone button?

It annoys me that I have a button that doesn't do anything!

The Phone button will only work with factory phone modules

The phone kit in the link, although sold by VW is made by bury
