New Member Polo 6R 2012

Post by robbieg »

HI All,

Yesterday i found the forum, and decided to join.
I have had my Polo 6R since 18th Feb 2012.
I bought it new and its a 1.2 Match (60ps). I owned a Mk6 Golf 1.4s before and decided i would like the NEW Polo instead.

I use it as a Driving school car, but i'm also a big VW fan, and try and attend a few shows each year, aswell as being a member of a local VW group (Dubshire!)

The car is fairly standard, apart from the few mods as seen in pictures below
Inside i have changed the stereo and have the VW RCD510 that i had in my Golf then kept for the Polo.
I have just taken delivery of a Bluemotion Grille which hopefully will go on this weekend.

All my learners love driving it.
I had to have a new rear bumper last week, 2 days before fitting the bluemotion grille, as a woman in a Touran hadnt noticed we had stopped at a roundabout and ploughed into back, luckily as we hadnt got handbrake on we got pushed forward which minimised damage.
I also had to get a new number plate surround for my rear pressed steel number plate.

I got my bluemotion grille off Ebay for £37.
It definately looks different.
I'm thinking of getting grille vinyl wrapped in reflex silver, but not sure.

What is it with silver Polo owners and rear bmpers eh? You and Fran have both had new rear bumpers and mines staring to peel :(

I dunno but my previous Mk6 Golf was same colour, (and to be honest ive done same mods on Polo), and that got run into twice, but it was only first one that required new bumper.

Need to try and tighten up the bra on the front bud or you may get some dodgy paint in the bonnet. I love this though.

Cheers Bud,
it usually is quite tight, but occasionally rides down a little, i cant get straps any tighter.
The bonnet has about 3 coats of turtle wax, and when weather picks up i'll get the bra off and clean and polish again.

I notice your bluemotion grill doesn't have the 'BLUEMOTION' badge :O I really want a fancy glossy grill. . .but I don't want the bluemotion badge - i didn't know you could just yank it off ?!

I'm liking this, it looks a bit euro... Reflex Silver is one of the best colours for Polos (I am biased)
