New Cylinder Head

Hi,

I have a quick question if any one can help. I own a 2011 1600 diesel polo. 23000 miles on the clock all serviced up to date. I have had to keep topping up with coolant and returned the car to garage. I have since been informed that I need a new cylinder head. I have not had much detail from the garage yet but I am concerned that this is a major fault affecting the potential resale value of the car . My question has anybody had or heard any similar problems and should I be worried or not about the future reliability of the car. The fix is all being done on warranty but at the moment I am concerned. Any advice would be appreciated.
