VVT actuator problem

Hi everyone!

Ive had a problem with my vvt actuator.

17935 - Camshaft Timing Adj. Bank1 (N205)
P1527 - 35-00 - Short to Ground
17833 - EVAP Purge Valve (N80)
P1425 - 35-00 - Short to Ground

These are the 2 problems coming up on vag com, I have tried replacing the actuator but the problem still remains. Ive looked around on the internet and it seems these 2 problems may be linked as they always seem to come up together. Has anyone had this problem before and knows how to solve it?? The polo is obviously down on power and doesnt seem to run as smooth.
