Head unit question

Post by hallie123 »

Any idea if VW do a head unit with aux connection to fit the 6n2? i like the way the lights all match up so dont really want to go for an aftermarket unit unless theres one that matches up quite well? Any suggestions?..

You can add an Aux port to the Gamma head unit with a special adapter lead.

I've got a Parrot MK9000i fitted to my original head unit. This means its all original but I've got bluetooth. I've got a lead coming out by the fuse box with a phono, iphone and a USB connector for my tunes. The only clue is a microphone attached to my centre sunblind thing by the rear view mirror. When its connected the stereo says 'phone' too which is cool. When someone phones, it turns my radio/itunes down, tells me who's calling and all comes through the car speakers.

The adapter lead sounds like a fairly easy solution, any idea where would be the best place to get one?

also had a look at the parrot mk9000i sounds good but its a bit pricey seeing as all i want the aux for is to plug in my ipod every now and then

Heres the aux

One step better is this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Polo- ... 33822d7c0d

That allows control of the ipod, and charging too :)

Ahh thanks mate, gunna go with the charging one, only a few quid extra and saves it dying on me, plus it will look a bit smarter as i can tuck the ipod away and use the head unit to controll it :)

Thanks for the help!
