Coolant leak 1.4se

Post by Richn83 »

I've had the car for a month now and have had to put a litres of coolant in, there is a small puddle in the drive in front of driver side front wheel but when underneath no sign of leak from that area but some liquid around back of the engine.

Has anyone else had any coolant issues as can't find any threads.

Might also be unrelated but has anyone heard a low volume beep when the bonnet is open, rather intermittent but regularly there?

Any comments welcome, have no codes on VCS BTW.

Hi, I had the same problem with my Ibiza (6J 1.4 85PS) http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=335878

It turned out to be caused by a radiator leak. This is apparently quite a common problem and VW generally offer a goodwill gesture to cover some of the cost if you are outside of warranty.

Had a new radiator fitted to my MY11 GTI last month mate. Car only done 24,000 and managed to empty the coolant tank in under 5 miles  VW replaced it under warrenty, however they did at first try to play the blame game as the car was 'substantially lower' than standard :D
