I've got a hold of a set of gti headlights with ballasts and bulbs but I've not actually gotten around to trying them because of the time they'll take to fit. Worst case scenario and the ballasts or bulbs don't work then they won't be particularly cheap to replace.
So...
is it possible to tun an aftermarket hid kit instead of the standard one?
It seems possible, the things I'm worrried about are:
How to secure the bulbs as they are an h7 style so can't be secured like the ds2 bulbs.
running the kit, no connector for the live and earth spades on the aftermarket kit
gti headlights with an aftermarket kit?

You can get aftermarket kits with d2s bulbs adapters
A h7 bulb will not fit into the GTI bulbs even remotely so don't waste your time.
