Post by ICEYPOLO »

I'm interested if anyone else has a full on install in their GTi and what other designs people have got...

Thought I'd post a pic of mine which should be finished ready for GTi Fest...

Focal 165 V Mids.

It looks very nice and should sound even better but I'd "hide" those wires that come out the sub. It would look even nicer if you put a plastic transparent tube around the wires and then put a coulour LED in the begining of the tube so at night the light would spread all around the tube creating a nice effect! :)

i can only see one sub?

nice work tho, great choice of amps and speakers.

i got going into mine soon:

becker mexico pro cd head unit
Memphis class A/D and D 5 channel amp
Morel 2 ways components

not sure what do about bass at the mo, dont really fancy a boot build, also the boot is an odd shape and have to get to the spare wheel.

might go for a pair of 8" subs behind the rear panels (3door)

Isobaric formation dude!

equipment was chosen for sound quality, i wanna get 3 way comps in the front tho so that might be the only change to this setup

jus gonna zip tie the cables together, i think they give it that 'heavy duty' look :D

i'm also gonna have the crossovers back lit with LEDS and the Focal Logo is getting wired to the boot light with a halogen bulb, dont wanna go over the top with lighting...

Glad you like!

you have to remember tho its took me a long time and lots of cash to build the system up and i did have a fair bit of help from my mate who does this for a living!

i'm sure there's a lot simpler sytems out there that are just as effective, i just went big on the show aspect as well...

you'll have to say hello if you get to the shows this summer! :D

very, very impressed!

:)

how easy is it to get to all the amps, controls etc? It looks like that stuff's never coming out - but I guess you're way ahead of the game judging by the looks of things

top notch!

p.s. you at max power this weekend? I'd like to see the install if you are

the amp controls can be accessed by dropping the back seats down and with the manuals in front of me its a piece of cake... the install was made with easy assembly in mind and it simply slots into place once the amps are un-wired!

trying to get to max power but i'm not sure at the moment! should have free tickets for sunday so i'll try and hook up

yeah that'd be good! Just got some infinity components off a guy on talkaudio - and one of them is damaged - need an audiophile to look at it to see if it's repairable! gutted :x so if you see my blue polo there come and say hello!
