I'm looking to buy 2012 Polo but would rather UK one rather than an import. Can someone provide me with VIN thingy for UK reg Polo please or how to definitely tell car is not an import?

No easier way to tell from looking say at V5, VIN numbers etc.?

I can't see how a VIN number is going to help you.

Like above a HPI check is your best option.

If you give the VIN number of the car you are looking at to a dealer, they can tell you if it has been imported.

UK cars have a regional code number of 210.

The VIN itself wont tell you where it came from, only where it was manufactured.
