Well the most I've had out of my 1.9tdi is 370 miles. Consumption has dropped from 52mpg to mid 40's but then I do alot of town stop n' start driving. On the motorways you are looking at 55-60 mpg.
I'm heading up to Wales this weekend so I'm expecting to top 400 miles on one tank of Diesel.

Is that it, I was expecting alot more miles - around 450 at least!
Remember in your V5 a tankfull cost £38-40, the fueltank in a Polo is much smaller tankfull costs £27-29. So fuel consumption is pretty good even if you boot it. It'll be a lot more efficient than the Golf as I found out
Put it this way I've never ever done less than 340 miles and on £27 that's not bad, I always fill her up before the diesel light comes on. The most I ever did in my V5 was 330, petrol light on and £38 later. I currently save £30 a month in fuel bills.
full tank down till the light comes on (approx 35 litres) gets me about 260 miles but thats mainly journeys below 10 miles and hard on the trottle at every opertunaty ive had it up to 55mpg once thou on a moterway
Right, I'm back from Wales with some great results.
Filled her up before I hit the M4 at Chiswick Junction 1. I mostly drove on motroways and A roads, a mixture of fast and medium paced driving. I managed 474 miles with the fuel warning light on but the computer said there were still 25 miles in the tank.
500 miles should been attainable, can anyone crack that!!!
