Hello,
My daughter's Polo (year 2000 6N2 1.0 AUC ) has developed an interesting intermittent fault.
With the ignition "Off" and the key removed from the switch she has had it happen a couple of times
where the Oil Pressure lights starts to flash, the buzzer sounds and just for good measure
if that doesn't get your attention the Airbag light is also lit. The fault seems to clear itself after a short while.
Has anyone any ideas or seen anything like this before ?
Rgds.

Sounds like a possible earth fault, or a short somewhere
Might be worth getting the car scanned for faults

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light, Buzzer and Airbag light "On"
I got the car scanned today with Vagcom and it did throw up
the following 2 DTCS ;
DTC 01314-Engine Control Module.
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
and
DTC 01321-Control Module for Airbags(J234)
49-10 - No Communications - Intermittent
So it looks like I am going to be having a look at the CAN-Databus Wiring Connectors from / to ECM.
I will let you know what I find.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light, Buzzer and Airbag light "On"
I forgot to say in my last post that the 2 DTCs found were in a scan of the Instrument Cluster.
So I'm thinking the fault could also be in the CAN Bus between the Engine Control Module / ABS and the Instrument Cluster.
However the one thing that is niggling me is that there are no fault lights lit or buzzers sounding when I am driving.
The various warning lights and buzzer only occur when the Ignition is "OFF" and the key is either in or out of the ignition switch.
Could it possibly be a faulty ignition switch where the dash is still powered and it is detecting the other systems not powered ?
Any thoughts or constructive opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning light, Buzzer and Airbag light "On"
I forgot to say in the above post that the 2 DTCs were picked up in the scan of the instrument cluster.
So at the moment I am thinking that there may be a fault in the CAN BUS between the Engine Control Module
and the ABS / Instrument Cluster.
However the one thing that is niggling me is that I am getting no failure lights or buzzer sounding when the
ignition is "ON". I am only getting the lights and buzzer sounding when the ignition is "OFF" and the key is either in or out
of the ignition switch.
Could it possibly be a faulty ignition switch where the dash is powered and it is detecting the other systems unpowered ?
Any suggestions or constructive advice would be greatly appreciated.
