So i had the inevitable gearbox issue and I've lost my 5th gear.
I've been to see a gearbox place and hes got all bits to repair it apart from what he calls a 5th gear pair.
I went to VW to get the part but he didn't know which part it was. he printed out the illustration so i could find out.

Does anybox know which part it is?
Thanks in advance

Yeah that diagram isn't helpful.
What you need is this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seat-Cordoba- ... 19d80dce1c
They are expensive from VW however,so i would suggest searching for a used set. The standard ratio for 5th in the GTI is 0.85, but I have installed a .74 for a better cruise.

Re: Help identifying 5th gear pair?
As in lower revs, so less noise and vibration.
