It cant go into the USB port. It has to go via the MDI port as this supports the proper iPod connection.

MDI is the way, from the brochure:
"The new Polo offers more connectivity than ever
before, all fitted as standard. The latest generation
radio/navigation systems recognise virtually any device
you wish to connect. The Composition Colour System,
standard on S, and S A/C models and the Composition
Media system, standard on SE models and above,
feature colour touch-screens. The Composition Media
system and optional Discover Navigation touch-screen
navigation/radio system feature a proximity sensor that
recognises in advance your intention to touch the screen
automatically adjusting the display mode, and an MDI
(Multi Device Interface), including iPod cable and
Lightning to 30-pin adaptor to connect"

Re: Awaiting delivery of new Blue GT - questions!
My pre-facelift 2014 BlueGT came with a cable for ipod/ipad to MDI interface in the glovebox. (Still in it's plastic bag unopened). Personally I use a 32GB USB stick with MP3's on it permanently connected to the MDI to USB cable that came fitted to my car. I have the RCD 510 unit.bigbawsmcgraw wrote:Hi guys, just taken the plunge and ordered a new blue gt in blue silk, getting it in a week, looking forward to it!
