What's going on with the headlight choices for the GTI
Re: 2015 Polo GTI Configurator
Are we going to follow Australia because unless I'm going nutz I don't see the 'Sport' button as an option or standard. Germany obviously has it but not us it seems.

The prices and specification bit on the VW website says that LED lights are standard.daydotz wrote:What's going on with the headlight choices for the GTI

Re: 2015 Polo GTI Configurator
Pretty easy if you go 5 door DSG Xenons etc.
It's actually making the A1 look better value.
Early days but I think they'll find sales sluggish, especially with the larger engine which will increase running costs. I would think they'll be decent discounts.
All in all I'm disappointed. I was looking to replace my 2013 in March. I'm hoping the R is not too far off, but at £25K that price it's not much less than a decent golf GTI and with the Octavia VRS starting at £23K and the Cupra R at £27K the next model up in the group of manufacturers seems to be a better bet.

Re: 2015 Polo GTI Configurator
Asked for curiosity...my friend at VW gave me a price of 19.200 € for a GTI (standard LED, navigation, parking sensors, folding mirrors, automatic lights, rain sensor and auto dimming mirror, ACC, controls at the steering wheel,...)
Great deal, way way cheaper than a Audi A1.

Spain is one of the cheapest countries for new cars in the EU and the UK is one of the most expensive.98octaneblood wrote:Asked for curiosity...my friend at VW gave me a price of 19.200 € for a GTI (standard LED, navigation, parking sensors, folding mirrors, automatic lights, rain sensor and auto dimming mirror, ACC, controls at the steering wheel,...)

I think running costs will be largely on a par with the current 1.4 despite the engine size increasing to 1.8. If anything the DSG is likely to be slightly more frugal given its 129g CO2 rating.
The stop/start function and natural advances in technology/design will mean that it is very unlikely it will cost more to run than the previous model.

For those waiting for the Polo R, you'll be waiting for a long time as VW announced during the week that it definatley won't be going ahead...

Showing up in the current price lists:JohnPolo wrote:Are we going to follow Australia because unless I'm going nutz I don't see the 'Sport' button as an option or standard. Germany obviously has it but not us it seems.
Sport performance pack: Includes sportier electro-mechanical steering, accelerator response
and engine noise inside the car. For DSG derivatives, the Sport setting allows the car to
reach maximum torque levels for a sportier drive. Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC): Variable
suspension settings – choice of three settings: Sport, Comfort and Normal.
At a bargain £245! If it's true DCC that's great.
Edit: I think the configurator is a bit rubbish TBH- the Sport pack isn't listed, and the xenons are available while they're not on the pricelist (and I can't imagine they would be available, given the standard LEDs).

Have you got a link?
Re: 2015 Polo GTI Configurator
Yes - I read that somewhere also as well, can guarantee there wont be a Polo R.

It's on... it's off.
Here's one of the latest links to 'it's off'. I did read it somewhere else , an interview with one of the bosses I think.
