Yes it is but it really is a piece of cake. The torx screwdriver is in the toolkit in the boot for undoing the two bolts that hold the light in. The only thing I did extra was to put masking tape on the bumper below the lights in case of damage when pushing the lights out. But so much easier to change the bulbs when the lights are out.

Oh great, just need to pick between Phillips and Osram then. Do people really see a big difference?
Iv read reviews and people say the Philips are the best you can buy, but I haven't seen any proof and normally don't believe it if everyone is just saying the same thing
