i got a rockford sub today not too powerful,
its rated as 200rms and my amp is 150rms (is the amp too underpowered?)
so i hooked it all up the sub worked for about a minute then it stopped, the amp light still comes on and the rest of the speakers work, however the sub does not move at all.
is it it blown?

something doesn't sound right there
but the setup seems fine - amp is nice and powerful (if that's 4 ohm rms rating) and it'll do fine for the sub.
I wonder if one of the speaker terminals is loose?
you'll have to do a process of elimination - test another speaker on the amp. if it works then the speaker is broken somewhere. if it doesn't then the amp is bust.
check the soldering and terminals on the sub, maybe the wire has broken, or if you're using connectors maybe one is loose?
let me know what happens

cheers for the reply mate
yea the amp is 4ohm
i connected the wires to the terminals and nothing, but when i connected the speaker wire to the coil wire it worked, so some how i've damaged the terminals, i've searched the internet and aint managed to find any information on it. the terminals are solid and are soldered on ok.
the amp defo works as i amped up my components thru it and it worked and the amp light also lights up.
i dont understand whats goin on

i dont think theres nothing wrong with the amp installation as i used my amp indoors also to test it out, its the same, but with the wire connected to the coil wire it works, its just the terminals dont work, is it safe to wire it up directly to the coil wire (the wire thats connected to the terminals)? but then i think that the terminals are there and stopped working for a reason.
