Car tracking help!

Post by gary390 »

Hi

I'm after a bit of help. My car has been pulling to the left when I drive. I guessed the tracking was out so I took it to get it sorted. They gave me a print out of how it looked. I have no idea what any of it means. Would someone be able to break it down. I have attached the printout.

From the top, left column:

+3 58 this is the castor angle

-0 44 camber angle

+0.2 Toe in

-0.54 Rear Camber

+0.1 Rear toe in

Each car will have the manufacturers recommended settings for each of these measurements, which I assume is the green section on each indicator. Pulling to the left or right is usually symptomatic of having different toe in settings on each side of the car - which you do - +0.2 on the left and -1.0 on the right.

The caster and camber are only worth worrying about if they are adjustable - I don't know the Polo well enough to comment on that.

Did they the adjust things and give you another printout?

Our Polo GTI tracking was out and pulled to the left, this wore out the front tyres on the outside edges so had to replace them even through the rest of the tyre was ok.

Have got it corrected now, but our printout was very similar to yours.

I never got another print out no. I'm guessing everything should be in the green rather than the red?
How would I find out if mine are adjustable?

Camber is noootttt adjustable

however can be manipulated by moving the subframe, the mechanic who does the tracking should know this

So by looking at that diagram does anything look really out of place?!
