Hi folks,
Our ageing 2000 model 1.9 sdi has a gear linkage that is falling apart. The rubber bush with a steel insert is separating And the nylon cups are worn.
Does anyone know where I can find a new set of cables etc?
My son who is a learner driver often finds third gear or first gear. This can have disasterous consequences for his confidence or following drivers. Is there a kit available or replacement parts.?
Its the set that has an alloy steady bracket fitted between body and gearbox.
Help pleeeeze
Jeff.

Welcome Jeff
Your local VW dealer is probably the best place to get the shift cables from. If your not looking to go genuine, ebay should have these in stock.
GSF used to sell them too, but not sure if they still do

Cheers mate, the main dealer is just around the corner. Could be a pricey route tho'
GSF, i used to work for many years ago but could be worth a go. Ebay has something which might fit but is listed for a 1.4 . It looks right but I need to be sure before spending 54 quid on a good used part. Think I will approach main dealer for a part number. (The service manager lives in our local) mmm the price of a pint. Unless anyone else has an idea?????
