Post by rbrstr »

cant find any old posts covering this topic, is it possible to change the timing belt and tensioners without removal of the crankshaft pulley? just wondering if i need to order a tool for removing the pulley bolt or not? its a 16v 1.4

The crankshaft pulley has to be removed to change the belt normally. Its also removed to change the water pump which you really should do at the same time given how cheap they are as to change it, itll all have to come off again.

And no, no tool, though youll need the camshaft locking tool to lock them in place.
