retrofit powered windows in the back

Post by polodad »

hi all

sorry to fall in with a big question but i'll shortly introduce myself first.
i'm jan from belgium 35 years old and driving a polo 1.2 tdi trendline

the kids are growing up and sitting in the back having discovered this turning thing that opens the glass.
so i'm a bit afraid that they will be able to open it sooner or later and climb out during driving.
(seatbelts only help so much...)

so i started a retrofit of electric powered windows. i followed a guide on the dutch forum but it only concerns the door.
from there on, there is nothing. so i put in the motor, wiring loom, switch and door trim panel.
and whilst i was at it i also retrofitted a speaker in the rear door. so far so good.

but now the difficult part starts (at least for me) because I have to do the wiring.
i already added a wire on therminal 30 to power both rear windows through a 30 amp fuse on position 52
also the negative wire is connected

as i understood, the doors are operated through the linbus.
however there are currently more free wires than only one. usually the linbus is purple but there are two of those haha

so does anyone know the wiring layout and easy points to connect to?
the passenger door wiring loom is the easiest to reach so hopefully there the wires can be attached

thanks all for considering

thanks mate! very helpful!

so the T28/2s all go to a T28/2 right front, i guess that's button illumination?

and the T28/16s go to the respective T28/16 on the matching doors, i guess that's the linbus?
is it possible to route both to the right front T28/16?

Yes to all, in fact in this way is like factory installed.

These electrical lines end at the BCM in the following pins:
- Linbus (white / violet) in T73b/17
- Illumination of switches (blue / gray) in T73b/34

...but is not need connect them to the BCM, you have to connect these wires to front doors connectors (T28) like indicated in diagram.
