yet more woes with my sons polo, his clutch cable snapped on his way back from dubclub. we replaced the clutch cable after we'd towed it home and found we could no longer select 1st,2nd,and reverse gears. some investigation later i worked out i could manually select ALL gears under the car by working the linkages by hand so thought the gear selector mechanism was faulty possibly caused by the boy having a hissy fit with the gear lever when the cable snapped. so ive just replaced the whole gear lever box and cables but the problem persists. i can adjust the linkage by the gearbox under the car to enable selection of reverse, or 1st and 2nd but not all three at the same time
naturally ive triple checked the clutch cable is set correctly as the issue started with that but i have to admit to being stumped!
any pointers please?
