6r wheels

Post by Leeren666 »

hey people, new here and looking for info, just bought a 6r and looking into lowering springs and wheels for it, looking at lowering it 35/50 f/r and putting some 16" wheels and 195 45 16 tyres on it, question is on offset, as in what offset do I need, and do I get them in a 7, 7.5 or 8j width ? Anyone fitted similar spec stuff and had clearance problems or is there plenty of room ?

I'm on 7.5j et38 with a 215 tyre
Tbh I think 16 inch is too small if ure lowering it and 195 is a skinny tyre on 7.5 or 8j, itd be quite a big stretch on 8j
Have a look at my post when I lowered whilst still running stock wheels

Thanks for that, the particular wheels I am looking at only come in 16 or 18 and I'm not paying the price of 18 tyres so 16's it is, how much was yours lowered by ? Maybe a bit too much for me, got some major driveway issues at home and work so can't go too low, just enough to stop it looking like a Land Rover :)

Yeah et35 7j is fine
Use this website to play around with specs

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?wi ... 35#content

I lowered by 35 mm front and 55mm back with h&r springs, don't really scrape ever tbh, but a smaller drop might be better for u if u scrape already and going for smaller wheels

Thanks again for the help :) much appreciated, just one more question  has anyone fitted wolf race wheels ? I am asking as I am going to need some bolts too but don't know whether to get standard at 27mm long or longer at 40mm, bought some wheels, just need to get some tyres, valves and bolts etc, don't want to use the standard ones coz they are for the steelies,
Sorry to be a pain !
Decided on 7j 17's with a 205 40 17 tyre, et35, going to lower by 25/40 f/r next
Thanks peeps

Hey!
Look like this post is old but I really want to know something before I buy the wheel!
Did you had any problem with 17"x7J et35 wheel? I am planning to buy rims that are 17"x7J et35 but I'm worried if it will scrape or touch the arc since I will be going on road trips with heavy load on car carrying luggage and 4 people. I have contacted the seller on ebay about the wheels I'm planning to buy, but they responded saying ' Ideally you need ET40-45' but the wheel I want, only has option an at ET35 :'(

No problems at all, have 205 40 17 tyres on at the minute, but looking to put some 225 45 17 on soon, loads of room :D

That will raise your car 19mm! The diameter is 38mm more than before.

I have 7,5x17" ET35 with -25/-40mm lowering springs in my car and there are any kind of scrub.
Tyres are 215/40R17

Also has 5mm spacer at rear... so ET is 30 at rear.. still no problem.

Maybe you find some pictures at my topic:
