Want to replace headlights with ones that have LED DRL

Post by Lirik »

Hello,

I have a a 2011 1.4 SE Polo and so it uses the dipped headlights as daytime running lights. I'd like to replace them with either of the follow two options that actually have LED DRLs...

I know that I'm going to have to get a cable to connect to the OBD port to change some settings but I've seen two types. The first one is labelled VAG-COM and are about £5 and the second ones are called VAG K+CAN and are about £15. Which one do I need if I'm mainly just going to be dealing with these new headlights?

Also, do I need to get behind the headlight selector dial in order to insulate some pins? Or is that just for disabling DRL completely? (obviously I want to keep DRL functionality if I get these LED ones fitted)

Thanks in advance for any help :)
