Clutch ?

Post by lxm »

Within the last 1-2 months I have noticed my inability to change gear smoothly without a slight judder or 'gap' between change and acceleration.

I have racked my brains as to why this could be, I wear the same shoes, my seat position has not changed, I couldn't figure it out. Then I decided to play with gear changes for a day and observe everything. After only operating the clutch in gear without the gas pedal, I have noticed that I now have to lift the clutch pedal a lot higher than normal to find the bite. Am I correct in saying this would be classed as a 'high biting point' ? Any reason why this would change ? Before I would lift the clutch pedal maybe 1/4 the way up and get the bite, now I have to lift it 1/2 way up. Having size 12 feet this is now causing me a little bit of a problem with space down at the pedals and a little cramping  and of course the bumpy gear change.

Have I worn the clutch or is this just age ?
