hello all- ive been around on here a while but never got into posting!
so i have had a 1.4 6n2 for some time, about 3 years now as the mrs run about. its been great up until about 3-4 weeks ago when we noticed a occasional hesitation from the engine. i took a look over the engine and found one of the leads almost cut through! so replaced them all. checked the plugs, they looked ok. i changed them about 2 years ago. car is only used for town driving with a max of 4 miles per day, some days not used at all.
so after changing the leads the problem was and is still there. mrs doesnt want to drive it understandably as the hesitations have got bad and are quite random. sometimes under load and sometimes not. the last time i had a bad one was turning into my street to the right, which seems weird unless there is a bad cable somewhere?
any direction would be cool. i am thinking to replace the coil pack / plugs next unless i am going in the wrong direction!!
thanks in advance.

Welcome
Quite possible the DIS(coil pack) or plugs have gone bad given the damaged lead

Re: Hesitation 6n2 1.4
I had something like this a few weeks back, I had to replace my coil pack as two of the connectors had become completely corroded. I had the ht leads cleaned and new spark plugs, everything now running great.
Mine is a 1.4 16v 2001 with 95,000
You could well have the same issue

Do you ever have a hesitation when turning the key to start the car as well?
Re: Hesitation 6n2 1.4
Could also be the Coolant Temp sensor.
My old 1.4 Ibiza used to do it, and my current 1.4 8V Polo does.
Its the Green 4 pin one on the thermostat housing. You will also get higher fuel consumption as one of the symptoms if it has gone.

I had a similar issue on my Gti and it was a fault on the flywheel pick up sensor
