Brakes!!

Post by Josherswilson »

So I've started a couple of threads on here now and this one is something I really couldn't find anything on!
Brakes!! What discs and pads are you running?
What upgrades have you done?
And what would you recommend!!

Currently I have upgraded my front brakes to 312mm from an Audi TT. Bosch discs and mintex pads... But I want to change this!

I have never used Mintex brake bits on any modern car, but the irony here is that Mintex is the UK based arm of TMD Friction, its other brands include Textar and Pagid. As far as initial quality is concerned, I've always found that Mintex looked and felt like they had been thrown together in a shed somewhere, whereas Textar and Pagid look like they have been manufactured in a purpose build factory! Not a good advert for UK manufacturing, which is annoying.

Nice bit of info that! Well after running Mintex I wouldn't recommend them, neither would i recommend the Bosch Discs! The discs warped within the first month... might be due to the rubbish pads not getting the heat out but this is why im asking about for a good upgrade!
