I think that I pressed the wrong button
I changed the time to BST recently but I think that I must have pressed a wrong button because now when I switch on the ignition a message comes up saying "Reset oil service?"

Have a little look on YouTube there are a few guides, unfortunately most of them are not in English, but you get the gist of what needed.

If I did that, would it not record in the computer that I had carried out an oil change. Would that affect my warranty or service agreement?

Seeing as VAG have made it that easy to reset the service indicator, I'd guess that you have nothing to worry about.
If I was you, I'd made a physical note of the date and mileage that you think that you did this, and hand that to the VW service people when you next get your car serviced at its correct time/miles - which you should be able to work out. VW service place should be able to edit their records if they can be bothered or add a note into the records that they hold online, now if they can't, then they are showing that either they or VW or sh#t wits!

Re: I think that I pressed the wrong button
Well it does tell you how to re-set it in the owners manual (Page 19 in mine) so its highly unlikely, I'm pretty sure that is all the technicians do once they're completed a service. (I've done it on previous model Polo's 9N, without problem) Also you've already said you think you've set it incorrectly anyway, you're only re-setting it, from the wrong status. Any doubts if it's still under warranty run it into the dealers it's a 2 minute job. They should not charge you, but with Vdud you never know, they've not been winning any prizes for honesty lately.Quicksilver wrote:If I did that, would it not record in the computer that I had carried out an oil change.
