Not sure if im being a total moron but my near/offside drive shafts are different?! Noticed this as even after installing shortened droplinks the drivers side ARB still rubs on the drive shaft. Can anyone shed some light on this, i.e. Are they meant to be different ???!

Yes they should, since the gearbox isn't centered but mounted to drivers left.

Ah thanks for shedding some light. Shame the drop links aren't able to actually pull the ARB out the way.

And so, I think, that explains why one shaft is solid and the other is partially hollow - so that they are both the same weight.

and also have the same torsion strength, to avoid torque-steer

Exactly but I tried to avoid the technical bit, when I was "young" we used to have a Styre Puch Hafflinger(sp?) 4X4 for off road work, and it had a hollow prop shaft running at high speed front-to-rear, the plan was to keep the mass down, torque loading down, torque handling up - and as the drive shafts entered the top of the drive hubs through reduction gearing, increase the ground clearance.
