Hello first post as a very proud new owner of a 2014 Polo R Line.
Just had the car for under a fortnight and I'm loving it so far. Only thing I'm not enjoying is the car's A/C at the moment.
Whenever I turn on the A/C I get a loud groaning sound coming from behind the two centre vents. The noise itself doesn't lessen or worsen with acceleration. I have also noticed that the groaning sound doesn't manifest if the car has been left for a couple of days. If I use the car later that day it comes back.
In the recent warmer weather we've been having the car takes a very long time to cool down if at all despite the blower being on 4 and coldest setting. I still get cold air but it's pathetically bad.
When putting the fans on without a/c button on, I get enough air coming in and there's no groaning sound.
I've got her booked in at the VW dealership where I bought her from on Friday so I'm curious to know what you guys think? Would the a/C be covered by my warranty?
Thanks,
Jamie

Re: Groaning A/C
Jamie, your car is less than 3 years old, so still has the benefit of the 3 year factory warranty. Additionally, as you've owned it less than 2 weeks, I'd expect the dealer to sort out any issues such as this that become apparent so soon after you took delivery at no cost to you, even if not covered under the factory warranty.

Re: Groaning A/C
Just a word on this, on the Skoda forum, some Fabia Mk3 owners have been reporting noises from the AC compressor, even when the chiller is not being asked to do work, this can show up at engine idle. There is a potential issue with the Sanden compressors which if noisy should be getting replaced along with the dryer, this was included in the Skoda webinar from January this year, so VW should also have passed out this info, though your compressor will need to be noisy to qualify for this FOC rework.
