Mudflaps

Post by paulsoava »

Hi, all! I will very shortly gain possession of a new (MY2016) Polo in Highline spec, 1.2 TSI DSG. I am trying to find a decent photo of the available mudflaps as I fear they might be too long (especially the rear ones) but I can't seem to find any information. Could you please send me photos of your mudflaps and if possible the part number? Thank you.

Hi paulsoava.

There are 2 versions of VW mudflaps available for the Polo; long and short. Part numbers;

Long front; 6R0075111
Long rear; 6R0075101B
Short front; 6R0075116
Short rear; 6R0075106

Sorry, can't provide photos as I don't have them fitted to my car. In the UK, the VW mudflaps do not fit the GTI, Blue GT or R-line because of the extended sills and the profile of the rear bumper (fender) on these models. We don't have a Highline spec in the UK so I don't know if this model has extended sills or a different profile rear bumper, so I would suggest you check this with your dealer.

The SEL is sort of the equivalent of the Highline (SE = comfortline, S = trendline). They all come without side skirts and the normal rear bumper.

Thanks for the replies. What my dealer says is that the facelifted version has modified bumpers, which might impede the mudflap installation. What is bizarre is that the long ones are still listed as compatible, whereas the short ones no longer seem to fit. For aesthetic reasons I would prefer the short ones but I was hoping someone has experience with this.
