Installing a sub, quick question! (6C)

G'day,

I found you guys thanks to @rsmagee 's post about his 6C woofer install (see: viewtopic.php?t=65703) and I'm trying to do the same. I'm a little stuck though. I'll be splicing into the Green and purple wires as seen below and wondering if anyone knows if the solids are positive and stripes are negative or vice versa? I appreciate any help given!

So after being screwed around by VW I desided to install my own sub to the polo.

If it was me i'd be looking at some thing like this if the sub has line level input.

saves any hassle an means it fully removable without damage.
