Saw it the other day falling off and wondered if i'd miss it.
I understand it softens the engine noise and it a fire preventer.. but just curious if it can be done or if anyone else has done it.

Anyone removed the material from the underside of the bonnet?

Very easy to remove takes about 1 minute, push the two ends of the clips together and pull out doesn't require a much force, then carefully remove. Careful not to bend they quite fragile, and can get £50 for them 
. Mines falling off but I have dynamat behind it (if anything hits the bonnet sounds like it hit a tank/volvo) and i cba removing the dynamat
