Replace Rear Tailgate

Post by Amrit599 »

Hi all, how do you remove the wiring loom for the tailgate? I'm attempting to replace the tailgate on my 6R. Does the loom connect to the 3rd central brake light as well as where the wiper and boot handle are located under the plastic trim? Also how do you remove the loom where the wiper and boot handle is as I can't see where you pull it out as there is no trim on the sides of the tailgate by the glass.

As I told you in you other topic (why do you open a new one?), you have to remove the trim of the boot (the luggage compartment) on the left side. Behind this, you'll find the connectors, hoses and wires to disconnect. Then you can pull out the wiring loom, there will be a good 5 feet of wiring coming out that will stay attached to the boot lid.

Hi, thanks I understand now after having a proper look and I didn't realise that I'd opened a new topic :/ Thanks I'll have a go tomorrow!
