Standard ICE upgrade

Post by Si_GTi »

Hi peeps,

Here's the situation: I want better-quality sounds, primarily more bass  BUT keeping the original VW headunit and 6-CD changer. Questions:

1. If I simply upgrade the current front and rear 6.5s to some higher-quality units will I notice any massive improvement?
2. If I buy a subwoofer/amp package, can the VW unit run it or will i have to upgrade the headunit?

If these questions have been asked before then feel free to point me in the direction of the relevant post, I'd be grateful! Oh and if it helps to know what kind of music I'll be playing, its a range of anything from Thunder to Green Day to Audioslave to Euphoria to BT to Groove Armada. All sorts of stuff!

Cheers

Depending on the speakers you chose. For example, if you go for a top of the line speakers (that need amplification) with the OEM radio you probably will get worst sound hat you have now. As far as a sub/amp package I think it's possibly.

I mentioned it in another sub related post but go for the infinity basslink with RCA cable for the gamma and trust me you will NOT be dissapointed.
