Genuine VW Carbon-fibre wing mirror covers

Post by fluppy4501 »

Can genuine VW carbon-fibre wing mirror covers be purchased?

If so, does anybody have any images of their polo fitted with carbon-fibre wing mirror covers?

Also where is the best/cheapest place to purchase these?

Thanks :D

You can get what VW describe as ‘carbon optic’ or ‘carbon design’ mirror covers for the Polo so they may not be real carbon fibre. They’re a genuine VW accessory though, and were listed in the price list for the 6r / 6c Polo as a dealer fit accessory that you could spec when you ordered a new 6r / 6c Polo. Part no, is 6R0 072 530 Z57.

This on-line VW store has them;

If you do an internet search on the part no., you’ll see there are various sellers that have these (or similar) for sale.

A (probably) cheaper option would be to get your existing mirror caps vinyl wrapped in carbon fibre look vinyl.

Ouch, that's expensive.
Go visit your local wrapping company and see about getting them carbon wrapped or dipped.
Obviously dipping means they'd need to come off and be taken apart, wrapping could be done in-situ.
You'd get to choose the carbon finish too, they usually have various grades of weave and shiny or matt etc.
I had my Mini Cooper roof carbon wrapped, it was mint.
