Hi guys,
I've bought a personalised number plate for when the GTI+ arrives. This is a bit alien to me as I've never had a personal plate or a brand new car before.
I'm assuming I have to provide the blue registration document from the DVLA to my salesperson at the dealership? Just wanted to see if anyone else has done this before and if it's an easy process.
Was thinking of handing the document over when the car finally goes into Transit. Not sure if I'll be charged to put the plate on or what not.
Cheers.

Re: Personalised Number Plate
Bought a plate for my GTI+ too - should just be a case of handing it to sales guy before the car is registered. My sales guy knows about the plate and I'll be dropping off the document once the car has been put on a boat. I bought my reg from the DVLA which includes the fee to put on a car so no extra cost from the dealer.

Thank you mate.gnome wrote: Sat Mar 02, 2019 11:30 am Bought a plate for my GTI+ too - should just be a case of handing it to sales guy before the car is registered. Also got mine from the DVLA so that's good to know there won't be any fee. I'm going to be cheeky and ask if they can stick the plate on instead of screwing it on, hopefully that won't be an issue.

Re: Personalised Number Plate
I always (secretly) fancied a personalised plate but after giving my best mate loads of stick about him getting one when he got his M4 I don't think it would be worth the grief I would get from him!! lol

It's easy these days, just take the retention certificate to the dealer and it can be all done on line. Even a transfer of personal plate can be done when you trade in.
Always stick the plates on, never screw them on. Make sure they are dead central and horizontal. You see Mercs and things with cock eyed plates, shocking!
