Upgrading the speaker in the Polo

I have some harman kardon 165mm (they are quite big) car speakers laying around which i want to put into the polo.
I have bought speaker adapters etc, put the in and turns out they are too big as a cant close shut the door card right by the speaker on the door.
Any ideas to come around this issue? or do i need to get smaller speakers?

Can you post some pics?

I've just fit some speakers, 170mm and fit with a spacer (the seller on eBay included them).

Can you perhaps file down the spacer you used? Or take the cover off the speaker to make it thinner.
