Third itteration of Polo coming?

Post by OomStu_ZA »

I way prefer this idea of the Taigun to the TCross which uses the same MQB platform.

Also here for rendered pictures of what it could look like (older images though):

I'm confused ! :: I thought they had stopped production of the Polo in Spain as well, but both of those linked reports state that the Polo is made at their Pamplona plant??

Same parts bin, same methods of construction, same training...the only variables would be experience of the production line operators, and people learn quickly when they're doing the same thing again and again.

From the number of people on this forum a d number of faults you could attribute to construction (e.g. my tailgate striker plate placement, but not my virtual cockpit screen issues), I'd say fault rate is on a par with a Wolfsburg built Golf.

No.reason to think that the SA workforce are stupid or feckless with an ineffective QC department.

Where ever VW cars are built they be the same build quality. End of the day VW get reputation to keep Especially after the diesel gate saga.

I'm sure some people think that Audis are built by white gloved craftsmen and Skodas are built by trained monkeys.

All the plants are interchangeable. When Seat got the almost completely unchanged previous gen Audi A4 as the Seat "Exeo", they left production in the same plant rather than ship it all off to Spain. If they choose to, VAG can make Audis in SA and Skodas in Germany.

From my experience of 10 new VWs and an Audi, German built Golfs are no better built than Spanish Polos, Portuguese built Sciroccos.

The only trouble-free VWs I've had were the 2 Portuguese built Sciroccos.

Well, they do make Skodas in Germany! Some of the Karoqs are built in Germany, due to production constraints in the Czech factory.

The Bratislava factory produces the Up Triplets, along with the Touareg, Q7, Q8, and Porsche Cayenne. The Audi Q3 is built in the Martorell factory in Spain, alongside various Seats.
