-just bought a 66 Blue Gt, and would like to fit Mudflaps. Does anyone know if they are available for the BlueGT? I know the standard Polo ones won’t fit because of the side skirts and different bumpers.

Hi, I’m pretty sure mud flaps aren’t available for the BlueGT, I think it’s because of the side skirts etc and to fit some you need to modify them.

Re: Mudflaps for Blue Gt
I have a ‘16 plate Polo GTI and VW mudflaps aren’t available for the GTI either.
From personal experience of 3.5 years ownership of my GTI without mudflaps, it hasn’t picked up any more stone chips or tar spots and it doesn’t get any dirtier between washes than my previous car (mk6 Golf GTD) did that had mudflaps fitted.
Whether mudflaps are fitted or not, the tailgate and rear screen will still get dirty when the roads are wet / dirty because of the shape of the car - the near vertical rear end sucks dirt onto the tailgate and rear screen as the car is moving forward.

Thanks SRGTD,
If the benefit is minimal then it sounds as though the lack of a suitable part is not a problem!
Cheers
