Has anyone try changing the manual heater for the polo gti 6C unit out and swapping it with the automatic climate control unit, want to see if it is plug and play.

Worth having a look at this discussion thread;

It’s not plug and play - it’s a big job and would be quite costly too. In my opinion, it’s not worth the hassle or the expense.

I’m not sure for the 6C, but i just did the upgrade for my 6R. not a small job. Technically, everything behind the dash shall be different with additional flap motors, temperature sensors and sunlight penetration sensors.
What I can share from my experience is that, apart from the box behind the dash, please also look the external expansion valve model, compressors type including the coding etc. Make sure there are all the same spec before planning on the inside parts.

Wow - That’s certainly not a plug and play upgrade.
Huge respect to you for taking on a project like that; I don’t think I’d ever contemplate doing it, even if I had the technical knowledge and skills.

Re: Polo gti 6c automatic climate control upgrade
thanks to CnK who did this upgrade and well documented the process in a nice PDF! And of course with the support of our experts here in the forum!
Well, if its just climatronic upgrade, i wont go to this level actually. But over the years, with installations and wiring i did, there are too many wires going left and right through the bottom part, which is a big mess. Infact, my OBD connector at one time, lost inside the wiring mess and i cant even pull it to its place. [emoji23]
The original wiring harness tree is going across the car under the dash. So I think with that upgrade, i can rework the wiring properly.

external filter from china. i think over here. its functioning well. what more when climatronic is always on outside air by default. [emoji1362]
