Elsawin

Post by Sylinsic »

Hi all,

Please forgive me if this has already been answered or is supposed to be located elsewhere on the forums, I've only just joined.
I was wondering if people could direct me as to where they got their copies of elsawin (english language version) please?
Any replies are appreciated!

Kind Regards,
Sylinsic :D

You could go to Erwin from VW for wiring diagrams

I've looked into erwin before, however, ~£30 for a single day isn't something I'm willing to pay, hence why I was looking at elsawin due to it being a single payment (I believe - will stand corrected if that's not the case)

I'd like to have the full package on demand ideally though if I can get it. Also, when you say everything, can you define exactly what you managed to "print"?

Elsawin isn't anywhere in the league of a £30 payment. It's a paid service that a dealership pays an annual fee of about 100 times as much.

You can print-to-pdf all wiring diagrams and repair information.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up, I wasn't aware of that - I've seen the various ebay CD's for about £15 and was wondering if people had experience with them, and whether they were legit. Due to the amount I'd seen i assumed that it was just that payment and then it was good to go.
With the print-to-pdf, is it possible to download everything at once or do you have to go through every section and manually download each page?

That's a pirated version of elsawin. It will work but is not eligible for updates.

I have just bought copies of erwin from easymanuals.co.uk - okay it is just a copy taken from Erwin at a certain point in time and so maybe not fully up to date wrt any changes, but as the info for these cars should be stable now, that is good enough for me.

I did reg for using Erwin but made a mess of trying to grab hold of all the info I needed, so chickened out and bought the same but on DVDs, copied it to SSD and then copied it to a pen drive/stick after deleting all the engine and transmission options that I did not need, works very well.

I've bought ElsaWin in the past, but mainly used it for its parts listings, it does not seem to appear on ebay etc very often nowadays, and when it does, it is usually just a copy of a trial issue and so limited date wise, now if you stuff it on an old computer that you don't use online, then that is okay as you can keep on using it as long as you "wind the clock back" - I did that for a while!
