Polo BlueGT 65 plate - App-connect

Hi Everyone,

I have just bought a used 65 plate Polo BlueGT with the Composition Media Unit 3Q0035842A with rear parking camera.

I have done a lot of searching through this forum and it seems as though I can get the Car Net / App-Connect feature added to my existing media unit.

Please can anyone advise if VW will still do this 5 years later?

Pretty sure they will, if possible. It depends whether your unit is capable of this.
But it's not a free service, they'll charge you a fair amount of money for this, about GBP200.

It cost in the region of £230-£240 around three years ago, so may cost £250 or more now.

It was a £100 option if specified by the first owner and ‘fitted’ as part of the factory build.

Thanks. Satnav systems in Surbiton will do it for £360 inc vat. They seem to have a good reputation so happy to go with them, plus they are only 20mins away from me.

Do you have the option on the screen?

If you do then it's just a case of getting it activated. I'm sure vw will do it for less than £360 imho

No I don’t have the option on the screen unfortunately!

then i suspect you will have to change the unit it in the glovebox then as the hardware is missing.

so if that cost is including the change of that then bite their arm off
