Engine rattling /chattering- again

Post by MrcPl »

At the risk of annoying everyone I’m repeating a question I’ve already asked, as it seems to be worse, and I have a better quality recording of the issue, and I’d really appreciate the opinion of experienced Polo owners.

The car is 2017 Polo 1.2 TSI Match Edition with 37400 miles on the clock.

There’s a rattling/chattering sound when idle, more noticeable after a rev. Here are a couple of YouTube videos, bonnet open and from inside the cabin.

Is it anything to be concerned about? I can return to the dealer if so. Any help would be appreciated, and apologies for the repetition.

Engine rattling /chattering- again

Common topic on this forum. I had the 1.2 TSI for years and sounded exactly the same, never had a problem. Most TSIs sound like this, think it’s high pressure fuel pump. Mine was weird, eventually simmered down after driving it for a few miles.

It does sound to be normal noises I'm afraid.

Thanks RUM4MO, I’m actually glad to hear that it’s normal, at least it’s not something I should worry about!
