Hi all,
I’ve been looking to get coding for my 2016 Polo - Reg CK16YGR,
I’m wanting to repair, mod and maintain the car myself.
The cost for the coding is £40, is it worth it?
Is coding worth it?

If you are planning to do further mods, repairs and maintenance, it might be worth considering the purchase of your own diagnostic interface.
Personally I am in favour of the vcds series of devices, a 3-VIN limited device should not break the bank. But will give you a lot of possibilities and support for your future plans.
Other options are carista and obd eleven but I am not expensively aware of their possibilities and limitations. I would recommend to avoid any Chinese clone devices.

Also, I don't recommend Chinese clones of VCDS. I had a few china cables until I finally bought a genuine one. I don't regret the money spent
