Hi
The internal plastic trim on my passenger side headlight has come loose, has anyone seen this issue before? Is there a easy fix for this? Any advise would be helpful.

Re: Headlight Plastics
I had a 6c Polo GTI for 4.5 years and never had this issue.
To gain access to the inside of a headlamp unit to fix anything loose inside would almost certainly require the ‘glass’ (from memory, it’s plastic) to be split away from the headlamp unit. It’ll be bonded to the rest of the headlamp unit so I don’t know how easy it would be to do this (if you damage the plastic glass, I’m pretty certain it’s not available as a separate part). If you’re successful splitting the headlamp open, there’s a risk when you reassemble it that you can’t recreate the watertight seal between the ‘glass’ and the rest of the headlamp unit.
A replacement brand new LED headlamp unit from VW is likely to be very expensive. It might be worth trying to source a used one from a breaker’s yard or well known online auction sites. Here’s a nearside one for sale on eBay;

eBay ad includes the part number, so assuming the correct part number has been quoted you could try a search on part number to see if you’re able to find others for sale. The 6c Polo SEL and R-Line models also had LED headlamps, but they won’t have the red GTI stripe inside the headlamp that the GTI model does, so check the seller’s description and pictures of any 6c used LED headlamp units carefully to ensure it’s a 6c Polo GTI headlamp they’re selling and not one for an SEL or R-Line.
